A standard 3-pin socket delivers around 2.3kW — meaning a full charge from empty takes 24–40 hours. It also puts continuous load on a socket not designed for overnight use. A dedicated 7kW charge point is safer, three times faster, and smart enough to charge only when electricity is cheapest.

Sync Energy (formerly BG Sync EV) is a compact, reliable smart charger with a 7.5m tethered Type 2 cable included — just plug in and charge. Wi-Fi and LAN connected as standard, with dynamic load balancing and integrated open PEN conductor protection — no earth rod required, keeping installation quick and clean. A straightforward, well-built unit at a sensible price point.

Most EV charger installers sell you a box on the wall. We offer something more compelling: a complete home energy system where your car charges from electricity your roof generated — not electricity you bought from the grid.
A Zappi charger paired with a JJB Volta solar and battery system means surplus solar charges your battery during the day, your battery charges your car in the evening, and on a Time-of-Use tariff, any remaining overnight charging costs you 7–8p per kWh. For a typical EV owner doing 8,000–10,000 miles a year, that's a saving of £400–£700 per year on fuel alone.
